Ask AI about what’s on your computer
Open an AI chat on your phone and ask "what windows are open?" or "what does this error mean?" — the AI can see your computer’s screen and clipboard, and the answer is in your hand.
- The AI sees the screen you are looking at
- The clipboard can ride along with any question
- No typing needed — hold to talk and ask

Walk back and look, or ask the AI?
A long task is running and you want to know where it is. The terminal printed an error you cannot place. Walking back is one path; asking an AI is another — RemoteCrab gives the AI eyes on your computer, so asking is enough.
Pick a model source the first time
The "Ask AI" entry walks you through choosing a model source (your own key, kept local); from then on it is a chat.
- 1
Open "Ask AI"
Tap it in the top-bar menu. The first time it guides you through model setup.
- 2
Ask
Type, or hold to talk — what you say is recognised on-device and sent as the question.
- 3
Context comes along
The AI sees the computer’s current screen and the clipboard alongside your question — no manual describing.
What it sees, what it keeps
Everything the AI can see is something you explicitly gave it.
The screen
Asking brings the computer’s current picture along — what is on screen is what it knows, no environment essays.
The clipboard
Include it when useful — errors, logs, code snippets: copy, then ask.
Answers can land on the computer
Generated text can be typed straight into the cursor on the computer — the line, the note, the fix, where it belongs.
Hold to ask
When an AI is available, the same hold-to-talk button becomes "hold to ask AI" — recognition on-device, sent on release.
Agent approvals
When a computer-side AI tool (opencode and the like) wants to run a command, an approval card appears on the phone spelling out what it would do — you tap allow after reading. Timeout does not approve: silence is never consent.
Your own model
The conversation goes through the model source you configured — it never passes our servers, and records stay in the app.
Where it shines
Questions with context beat questions without.
- Watching a long task — let the agent "ping you when done"; the notification lands and one tap jumps back to that window.
- Rescuing an error — copy it into the clipboard, ask what it means, with the screen attached.
- Drafting text — have the AI write or rewrite, then drop the answer straight into the cursor on your computer.
- In a meeting — check on the computer from your phone without leaving the room.
What you need
- A connected computer (macOS 26+ or Windows)
- iOS / iPadOS 26 or later
- A model source configured in the app (BYOK: your own API key, nothing goes through us)
- The desktop app connected as usual
Safety-wise: what travels (screen and clipboard) does so at the moment you tap ask — nothing is harvested silently.
The computer’s notifications, all on your phone
Besides asking AI there is the quieter one: notifications on your computer forward to your phone, and tapping one jumps back to that app and window.

Get both apps, configure a model source, and ask your first question.
